Your past will always catch up to you.

i had the most uncomfortable ride on the train this morning - i saw my ex-neighbour (Adam) who used to be a very close childhood playmate of mine and my sister's for many years during our primary school time.

thing is, under normal circumstances, i might be pretty glad to see him, catch up a bit for old time's sake etc. but well, this is not under normal circumstances given my mom, sis, bro and me moved out of my parents' marital home overnight (literally) and nv gave anyone any explanation as to what happened and why we did it.

so it was like one day, one of our neighbour probably came knocking on our door, looking for my mom and wanting to ask her why she hasn't been answering calls etc, and to keep up with their weekly routine of catching up on town gossips.. and it was then that she realised that we have all abandoned my dad and left. just like that. we've all changed our numbers so no one could contact us unless we contacted them.

and the news spread like fire across our neighbourhood.

and so this was how we lost contact with all our friendly neighbours and childhood friends. i've been staying in that neighbourhood since I was 5 and when I left, I was 21. it was like leaving my whole life behind me and walking into uncertainty.

a lot of ppl ask me now why we had to cut off contact with everyone. truth is.. it was my mom who wanted to do that, not us. call it karma or watever, i guess she knew she wud now be the topic of town gossip.. and for a long time too.. so i guess she didn't want to contribute to the gossips any longer.

on the other hand.. it cud also be because none of us really wanted to talk abt what happened and why we did what we did. from the outside, it looks ilke we all abandoned our dad, but only the 4 of us know what truly happened. (which i honestly believe none of us likes to talk abt it much these days.)

anywae, all of that is over.

so back to my train ride this morning. Adam and i were next to each other, separated by only one person between us. u can now understand why it was so uncomfortable for me. i could not talk to Adam, cuz I wudn't know where to begin and I certainly did not want to entertain his questions. so all i could do was hide behind my fan of hair and pretend i didn't see him. the train was too packed for me to move anywhere so i cud only remain standing where i was discreetly and being very aware of myself. it was realli embarrassing. i swear the guy who was sitting down facing me stared at me like i was some psycho with my hair covering 3/4 of my face, peeping up at Adam from time to time - like a serial stalker.

so i kept peeping throughout my train ride until i realised that Adam probably noticed me cuz I saw him peeking over at me a few times. I lowered my fan of hair to cover whatever parts of my face left that he cud probably see. i was pretty sure i looked like a lunatic at that point.

after a few moments, i peeped at him again and he wasn't looking anymore. i decided, maybe he felt it would be awkward to have to speak to me as well, after losing contact for so many years.. so he pretended not to see me too. then i felt more at ease and swept my hair back to behind my ears, but maintained my gaze on the opposite direction so he wouldn't see the full frontal of my face.

and finally, i reached my stop and i dun think i ever felt so glad to be going to work on a Monday morning! i practically ran out of the train and all the way to my office to seek refuge.

it was realli like a double whammy for me cuz just the night before, hubby and me were driving around my old neighbourhood.. just checking out the houses cuz we were planning to buy one there. perhaps it was the rush of memories that came back to me the night before while we were cruising in the neighbourhood that kinda willed my past (Adam) to appear in front of me this morning.

i believe in stuff like that, it does happen. do not underestimate the power of a human mind.

i'm just glad it was not my father i ran into. :S

Say Thank You For What?

i was reading some past posts from angryangmoh.com and came across one comment posted by someone named "James".

That particular post was talking abt why some Singaporeans have a problem with saying "Thank You" and a lot of us walk around like someone owes us the world.

I must say, his reply is unfortunately, true and I agree with every single word. It really set me thinking.

"During my stay in Western Australia, I was amazed why everybody was always happy and smiling. At the end of 2 years, I found some reasons. There’s minimum wage levels - nobody is poor if they are willing to work. A “bricky” can earn as much as an engineer. And if you are really destitute, there’s real welfare - not $330 per month.University education is free, and scholarships, if needed, are bond free. Red Shield provides free medicals - including cover for foreign students. The free bus ride to King’s Park - after 30 years - is still free. Beer is cheaper than Coca Cola. Barbeque pits are free - BYO only, no need for permit application. Etc, etc.

Back in Singapore, it’s GST, ERP, COE, PARF, road tax, water conservation tax, tv licence, school fees, supplementary fees, and a prime minister that demands to be paid 5 times what Obama gets.

What for you say thank you?"

That said, I have to admit that there is also a flip side to it.

"James" makes it sound like as if this gives us, Singaporeans, all the right in the world to act like Kings and Queens.

I am sure everyone has come across the lady who shoves and pushes her way in the train, the guy who sits at the next table during lunch, demanding for a clean glass of water or the mother who "parks" her pram in the middle of nowhere, blocking the way of the escalator, exit or whatsoever (typical ugly Singaporeans).

I meet at least 2 of them, everyday.

Honestly, the way our govt functions the way it does (sometimes against our favour) doesn't mean we shud walk ard feeling angry at the world. This is where we were born, where we were educated. Where our homes are built, and where our friends and family live. I agree that some regulations/systems should be done away with in Singapore, but the others have served us well for more than 40 years and resulted in a safe, stable and flourishing country.

We, Singaporeans, have to learn to be gracious, grateful and contented. Cuz these traits seem to be the ones that set us apart from our neighbouring countries. (We are known to be complain kings/queens, rude and demanding, from what I hear.)

Like the saying goes, "快乐是一天,不快乐也是一天。" it wudn't solve anything if you choose to walk ard the whole day pulling a long face. it will make it a bad day for urself and nobody else.

So in support of the Singapore Kindness Movement, why don't we all try to say "Thank You" and "You're Welcome" today? It will brighten up your day and someone else's day too. :) I would love to see Singapore turn into a friendly and happy society!

What can I say, I love and hate Singapore. But at the end of the day, it is my home and no matter where I am in the world, the only place I will call home, is Singapore.

National Day haven't come lah. I just feeling only. :p

Trip Down Memory Lane - Soul Searching

i think i got a lil too carried away with my joy and stuffed myself silly during the long weekend. well, simply cuz it was a long weekend! :)

so much so that i had indigestion on Monday and my stomach was bloated as if I was 4 months preggers. it was so uncomfortable. i didn't report to work that day.

so i stayed home, did my laundry, cleaned up the room a bit.. took many, many rests in between cuz the stomach feels better when i lie down.

and as i was clearing out some stuff in the room.. i came across this box of stuff. i mean, i alwaes knew it was there, but i jus nv bothered myself with it. and it was when i decided to clear it out and clean up that space that i found my old diaries in the box.

i was super excited. i had been looking for them a few weeks ago cuz i had all my diaries except those during the years 2002 and 2003 - which meant a lot to me cuz significant stuff took place during that period!

1. Jimi came to SG to see me in mid 2002
2. I had a whirlwind-romance-turn-disaster when i met my then-bf of 2 weeks in late 2002 (let's call him ZERO)
3. I met Des for the 1st time in late 2002
4. I met my future-hubby for the 1st time in early 2003 :)

Isn't it all very exciting?! HAHA. For me la. :p

I had such a blast going thru them and I sat in the same position reading them for a good 2-hours before I took my 1st break!

I am so glad I've kept diaries during my younger days. cuz it is the only way i can look back at myself and see the changes that have taken place. and reading thru my old diaires, i found that i have realli changed over the last 5 years.

i cringe sometimes when i read abt the stuff i wrote, i was so inconsiderate and self-centred in the early parts of my relationship with *him! i am so glad i am not that demon anymore!

and of cuz, there's the good, the bad and the ugly. i also saw some parts that i have forgotten (the fragile human memory). like how sweet *he had been to me (he still is, just in a different way) in the beginning and all the catching and chasing games we played before we finally got together. it was realli heartwarming and slightly hilarious when i read stuff like, "does he like me or not?", "how come he hasn't asked for my number?" or "i realli hope he is the one!" :p

the ugly bits will have to be those with ZERO in it. no doubt it ended horribly but i have to admit that they way he chased after me was very romantic indeed (somehow i managed to block him out completely in my head and conveniently forgotten all abt it). all happened too fast with him, but definitely romantic.

then i realised i had been very lucky to experience the different types of relationships throughout my younger days. i have had puppy love, i have had a teenage crush (yes, as a teenager, i had only liked one person throughout!), i have had a long distance r'ship, i have had a whirlwind romance, i have had rendezvous overseas (twice! - some call it 艳遇?), i have had 2 subtle rejections and also one memorable courtship that led me nowhere (but he will alwaes be remembered fondly).

and very very fortunately, i found the steadfast and everlasting love in *him.

i may not talk to most of the ppl i mentioned above anymore, but somewhere, somehow, they have molded me into the person I am today and led me to where i am today. and i really wouldn't have it any other way.

today, stop for a moment and think abt this - who are those who made an impact in your life so far?

i assure you, you will find regrets, as well as joy. but more importantly, i hope you find yourself then, and what you have become now. it will be gratifying, if not amazing.

l.o.v.e.

Can the whole world go and watch "The Notebook", pls? It is a great show and horribly understated. I am in constant amazement and utter disbelief whenever someone tells me they've never seen it before!

I've seen it about 100 times myself (ok i'm lying, it's about 20 times tops) and each time after I watch it, I fall right back into love (with Ryan Gosling too). I remember buying the DVD from the video store and the guy who saw me taking it, commented, "That is a great show". Well, I knew that oredi that's why I was headed for the original DVD. :) It would have been way better if I had been able to afford the Blu-ray version.

I was watching Ryan Gosling on The Ellen Degeneres Show via YouTube last night.. boy, can he salsa! it was super sexy. and i swear Ellen was blushing at one point!

now go and grab a copy of "The Notebook" and watch it, pls!

Shinjuku ACCIDENT

It was so bad. I feel for all those starving African children.. the money invested to make this piece of crap could have gone to a better cause.

What a waste of time and money.

The Rock

i normally wear my wedding band on a day-to-day basis.. but there are some days, like today, when i feel like putting on my proposal ring.. and think abt the day i 1st wore it on my finger.

it makes me all fuzzy inside whenever i look down at my ring.. i kno it is only a small rock but wat it signifies means more to me than how much it's worth.

i dun think anyone can do anything more romantic than what he did when he proposed. :)

Random thought

"If it will upset the other party when they find out, I think it's considered cheating. And if you have to hide it, then you shouldn't do it."

I totally agree!

English Actors In America

Oh lookie! Look what I found onilne! My 2 very favourite English actors (at the mo) in a picture tgt!

I wonder if Ed and Rob actually do know each other? And the girl in the picture is one lucky chick. lotsa other chicks wud kill to be that position!

having said that, I do have a soft spot for English actors.. there's something about their accents that is soooo sexy.. and most of my favourite Hollywood actors hail from the United Kingdom..

The top of my list is Hugh Grant.. followed by Orlando Bloom, then Ian Mckellen (although that would change now with the inclusion of Ed and Rob). And no, I do not like them cuz they are English.. it just happened! the same way for both Ed and Rob, I find out they are English only after.

And I dun automatically like all English actors.. I dun like Jude Law, neither do I like Coiln Farrell (but he is Irish, right? counted? :p). And my ultimate hate is Daniel Radcliffe!!

He just dun come across as sexy to me!

Beep! Beep!

i was over at my aunt's place the other day and we got to the topic of pagers. can't rem how we got there but we did.

so i was telling her that my 1st pager was actually my father's. he didn't exactly give it to me, but more like we used it on a "shift" basis. :p

u see, my dad was a night-shift taxi driver. so when we were out and about in the daytime, he'd be sleeping at home and vice versa.

so whenever he got home from work, he would pass his pager to me before i headed out and have me bring it to school, so that i'd be contactable anytime.

i was in primary school then! and this was the pager that i carried in my pocket: Rock Steady, baby!

no joke. i carried that to primary sch. :p and each time i whipped it out of my pocket, i wud hear jealous sighs and gasps of admiration.

but as i got older, particularly when i went to sec sch, everyone was carrying hip pagers with see-through casings and metallic chains with bells. and each time i whipped my rock-steady pager out, only bursts of laughter broke out. so i went to my dad and demanded for my own pager and got one of those cool motorola alpha-numeric pagers in nice baby blue: cudn't find the one in baby blue but this was the model!

it is such a riot thinking back to those pager days. and i dun realli understand why we needed a pager?? and eevryone who had one alwaes had to carry them in secret in sch, or risk getting them confiscated. in any case.. that was the start of the technology frenzy and led to the now-phenomenom of everyone owning a mobile phone and even up to the point of schools allowing mobile phones to be brought to school!

i kno it probably makes some feel old but i am proud to have been one of those ppl who's used a pager before. it's very nostalgic. :)

Weekend of Mar 21st

"Twilight" DVD was released last week and not only did I have to get it.. I actually made a pre-order for it one week prior to the actual day of release. HAHA! No I am not ashamed to admit that!

It is a good thing I had the DVD to watch (again) over the weekend cuz I've finished up whatever I had of Gossip Girl season 2 and was devastated when I realised my version ends abruptly in the middle of the season. But I should have known cuz US telecast has not even reached the end of season 2 yet so who was I kidding? It would be some sort of a miracle (or ghostly encounter?) if my dvd player magically played the dvd until the season finale of season 2. :p

And I am also proud to say that I have successfully converted another human being into a Gossip Girl addict (it's not that hard, actually) and I now have one more person to gush abt the series with me. What's the fun in watching such an awesome series if you have no one to talk it over with, right??

So other than having a DVD marathon this weekend, i also went for my weekly ritual run on Sunday. And this week, i added on an extra 30 sit-ups to my 4 rounds-jog + 2 rounds-walk to end my exercise regime.

The funny thing is the part of my body that SHOULD BE hurting now is my abdomen muscles.. but it is not. instead, my lower back and butt is hurting and bruised like i had fallen realli hard on my butt the day before. :( i think it's cuz my body is no longer in the shape it was back in sec sch days when we all had to do NAPFA and 30 sit-ups in one minute was chicken feed. the bones are now all hard and less flexible and the only sit-ups i ever did since then is the one sit-up i do every morning when i get up from bed. HA!

have to seriously consider getting an exercise mat jus for doing sit-ups the next time.. the wooden plank at the fitness corner for doing sit-ups is realli a killer to my back. :(

Going into the last few days of March already.. time is just passing super fast. Come April, it will be officially 6 months till my wedding and I will be allowed to be in panic mode and use the wedding as an excuse for EVERYTHING.

"Sorry I was busy with my wedding preps."
"Sorry I can't cuz I'm busy with my wedding preps."
"But I am getting married in 6 months."
"No cuz I need to prepare for my wedding."
"CUZ I AM UP TO HERE WITH MY WEDDING PREPS!"

kidding la.. if i say that to you.. it is not an excuse k.. i promise.. i am jus realli busy with my wedding preps.

HAHA! :p

Lost Generation

Watch it, I promise you, it's cool!
More imptly, read the msg behind it..

Watch Tinted Windows - Album release Apr 21!

1st of all.. wat is wrong with the host? he seems extremely bored and unimpressed by the "terrific guys"!

and yea.. i took a long, deep breath after i finished watching that, and ended with a silly grin on my face. i knew Taylor was the lead singer in this new band but i didn't know he was going to front it.. like the regular frontman of a rock band! i thot it wud be like the hanson days where he wud sing and play his keyboards at the same time. it's certainly going to take some getting used to.. i still like him better thrashing at his keyboards.

and those footwork.. omg.. he needs to work on them.. they look tangled at one point! *cringes!*

doesn't he remind you slightly of daniel johns from silverchair (w/o the guitar)? the skinny tie and the blonde hair?

Hanson on GG

Let's talk a bit about the music in GG today, instead of my regular rantings abt its beautiful cast..

So anyone who knows me knows i'm a musical person. music is a big part of my life.. a lot of the life-changing points in my life so far can be easily represented by a certain song or a certain band/singer.

and being the kind of person I am, i am extremely sensitive to the music that is playing ard me. be it in movies, on tv, in the record store, ringtones playing out of mobile phones, in the shopping malls bla bla bla.

In GG, i noticed most of their music were funk and silghtly chill-out. it realli sets the mood for the uber cool show and when suddenly, they play a slow, endearing tune in one of those tear-jerking scenes, one will realli stop to listen.

it happened to me on the very pilot episode of GG - when i was still trying to grasp the storyline, familiarising myself with its characters and basically taking and breathing all of it in.. when i heard the song.

it was a bit alternative, leaning more towards slow rock/pop. when the vocals came on, it was raspy and very depressing. the tune of the song realli made the scene very impressionable.. one of those whereby the whole screen just looks perfect. music playing, lady walking in the wind, hair blowing beautifully across her face.. even the passers-by were looking good.

i thot i felt my heartbeat jus miss a beat. the song was beautiful.

so without doubt, i googled it the very next day and it was an extremely pleasant surprise when i found out that the song was "Go" and performed by Hanson. (Zac as the lead on this one, otherwise i would have totally recognised Taylor's voice!)

So going back to my very musically-influenced life.. Hanson was a BIG part of my life for a good 7 to 8 years. If my sis is reading, she'd be cringing now. cuz she'd be remembering my 10 to 15 hanson posters in our small room, my pc with hanson's faces strewn all over my wallpaper and screensaver, my files and books all wrapped up in "Hanson Rules!" scribblings (and i fondly rem one incident when my sis cud not take it anymore and screamed at me, "this is my room and there no other RULES except mine!"), the endless playing of Hanson's songs on our cd player and the struggling/painful strummings of an aspiring guitar player (er, that wud be me). yes, hanson influenced me so much i actually picked up guitar for them! (self-taught with the help a friend's, mind u!) i can still play it today but will probably need to learn some new songs, other than the hanson ones - the only ones i know.

so the song is from their latest studio album, "The Walk", which i actually have lying around somewhere in my drawer. Even after the 7/8 years of frenzied idolization, i continued to support them by buying every studio released album. but since the frenzy is not there anymore.. i bought it and chucked it. :( nv got ard to listening to it until i watched GG and went looking for the album i have hidden somewhere.

it is wonderful. i've missed taylor's voice more than i knew!

and also thru a few other websites, i found out that Taylor has recently joined a "Superband" (this means a group of already-famous ppl come together and form a new band - something like 183 club in TW). "Tinted Windows" consist of guitarist James Iha, previously of The Smashing Pumpkins, singer Taylor Hanson of Hanson, bassist Adam Schlesinger of Fountains of Wayne and Ivy, and Bun E. Carlos of Cheap Trick. I am widely surprised by this new idea (considering some of these guys are easily his father's age!) and hugely pleased to know that Taylor is making efforts to revive his career, and not let his beautiful face and recognised talent go to waste. but, how is taylor like working outside of his own band?? i nv thot he wud go down this path so it is a very very intriguing thot for me.

If you don't see a similarity, the 2nd one from the right is Taylor Hanson.

however, i am upset that Taylor is no longer as beautiful as he used to be.. but his voice.. his voice is still as captivating. haha, i think i am the only person in the world who wud say that abt his voice. but it is exactly what it does to me.. i have been held captive for years!

Tinted Windows have only one song out on digital release so far.. and i have downloaded it and am loving it. the music style is apparently "an early 80s kinda vibe" but IMO, it's still pretty much pop-rock, very similar to what used to rule the radio stations in the late 90s. and some parts of the song sounds very movie soundtrack-ish. not that i am complaining..! Taylor is the lead singer of the band and i cannot be more pleased with that decision!

If you have a bit of time.. download Kind of a Girl and listen to it for yourself!

You don't want, but I want!

Following him to my post abt Eddie earlier.. i was very upset when i saw the headlines of today's My Paper..

seriously. wat has it got to do with the netizens who protested abt Eddie's appearance in SG? is his coming here gonna ruin their lives? are u afraid that he will take racy pictures with your gf/wife/sister/mother or wat?? (even if so, they are all probably willing parties lo!) i jus dun understand how some ppl can be so ridiculous.. can we not forget abt it and move on?? how wud u feel if u made a mistake a work and ppl nv forgave u for that and refused to let you take on any other work for that matter? it is simply ridiculous!

anyhows, i dun think these netizens' opinions are gonna matter cuz from wat i read from My Paper, the organisers do not feel threatened enough to cancel his appearances. if anything, i think they are more happy that it is causing such a controversy. good publicity for the PR stint, i say!

so having said that, who can get me a ticket to the Adidas event huh?? i wanna go see Eddie!!!!

GG - XOXO!

so i've finally got to catching up on the gossip girl craze and i must say - i think i love it, too.

see, i've been watching too many of such "young adult" dramas from the US and i must say.. i'm starting to get jaded.

the said dramas mentioned above is typically full of squealing teens who seems only have one description for everything they say/do/feel - "O.M.G." it's ok if u say it once every episode but when it's at least once every scene.. i dunno. it gets to me.

so i started watching gossip girl having these same expectations and also thinking.. it's jus gonna be another one of those.. u see one, u've seen them all.

but no... i am halfway through season one and i haven't heard anyone blurt any OMGs. at least not that i rem.. cuz they realli dun say it that much. and i think the actors/actresses may have actually been casted, taking also into consideration, their voices. how is it that all of them have such non-squealing voices and even better, that deep, husky, matured voice? all of them, i swear, all of them have such appealing voices! it's like even if i close my eyes and just listen to the dvd playing... i wud still fall in love with their voices. they are jus so non-irritaing. unlike those in "The Hills" and "90210". and gee.. 90210 is really bad. and i realli think this is the glammed up version of "The Hills". tho there is absolutely no comparison between the 2. gossip girl is the queen of young adult drama!

not only is the cast beautiful.. they all more models than actors. and it's amazing how the cast manage to potray the teenagers to be very adult and thoughtful. which is exactly how i wud imagine the atas kids of NYC to be.. less like those regular kids who go to public schools (like in 90210. eww!) like there is nothing to hate abt them. they are so cool and decisive and know what they want. right, it's the confidence that they ooze. it's so alluring!

and i hereby confirm that i am a bad-boy lover. cuz i have to confess that at this point of the series.. my fave guy is CHUCK BASS. how weird is that! he's not the most good-looking, nor is he the most pleasant character but he is the most dangerous guy with the most sarcastic remarks. i love that!

and i now understand why kids in SG these days are so bold with their dressing and getting so good with it. if gossip girl is the kind of stuff they've been watching and getting their fashion inspiration from.. i say WAY TO GO! the fashion is chic and tasteful and.. i might be adding some new pieces to my own wardrobe, inspired by the show itself.

cuz u kno, when it comes to fashion, there is no such thing is not having enough space. there is alwaes that extra space left in the wardrobe. :)

The 2 Great Loves - Part 2

MY 2 GREAT LOVES! 排名不分先后!

PS: Librans love TV in Bed!

This entry is for you, Ms. Teo! :p

Eddie is coming to SG!

Seeing his picture kinda still reminds me of the scandal but truth is, we are always gonna be reminded of the bad things ppl did in the past no matter how they try to make up for it later. And hello, a guy this good-looking is bound to attract trouble like a magnet. it's jus worse in this case that he has a bad-ass attitude to go with it.

So wat the hell, Edddie! Come back to showbiz oredi! My TV screen hasn't been sizzlin' since u've been gone! :(

So I read in The Straits Times today that Mr. Chen will be heading over to SG for an event in the name of Carl's Jr. It is kinda a weird thing to go to, considering the fame he used to enjoy before the scandal broke, he would have never needed to attend such events. but well.. times are different now and any kind of publicity would be good publicity, I guess.

and lucky us... of all places to stage a "comeback", he chooses SG! i reckon it has a lot to do with our national security and all.. perhaps he feels it is safe here to make an appearance. This news is very disturbing and i believe there is some truth to it.. no fire no smoke, eh?

no dates are mentioned as of now but when it is.. you can be sure the tabloids will be louspeakering it all over the place.

I can't wait to see Eddie!!!

The 2 Great Loves

i have been re-watching Sex and The City recently and I just saw the 1st episode on Season 5 titled "Anchors Away". In it, Charlotte mentions about these "2 great loves" that everyone gets in their lifetime. Meaning that everyone has only 2 great loves in their lives and they either end up with either one of them.. or nothing at all. like if you've missed the boat, then it's gone forever. and in carrie's case, her 2 great loves are obviously Big and Aidan. (and till this day, i dunno why she dumped Aidan!)

that set me thinking for a while. who are my 2 great loves? and how do i kno who are my 2 great loves? other than my hubby now, i nv stayed in another r'ship long enough to kno if he had been the one great love in my life.

so that is to say - effectively, i only have one great love, as of now.

*gasp* the other great love hasn't appeared, yet?

that is a disturbing thot and i certainly wud not entertain it if it ever comes my way.

most of my frens would have me believe that my other great love wud be J. but some part of me is not convinced.. if he had been one of my great loves.. then shudn't we have done more than wat we had? with him, it is alwaes a sense of regret, a sense of what-if and a sense of i've-not-done-enuff. :( how cud that be equal to great love when we both know we haven't tried at all, if not enuff?

comparatively, my r'ship with my hubby is nothing if not a great love. the storms we've weathered for the past 6 years would be nothing if we are not married today.. it would all have been for nothing. but it is not.. cuz we have worked out our differences/put them aside in order to make us work.. IT IS A GREAT LOVE simply cuz we put each other before the other. i cannot begin to say how much i appreciate wat he's done for me all these years.

so perhaps not everyone has 2 great loves in their lives.. in my case, one great ongoing love is better 2 failed great loves in a lifetime.

I believe in LOVE, do you?

Of Annoying Colleagues (& more)

Exhibit A - Charles

Charles has been a long time friend of my BFF Nic (ok, they used to date). Only when he got an internal transfer to my side of the office did I realize that we were working in the same company.

To be honest, though I have met Charles several times before in the past years, we nv had anything in common to talk abt. His very presence makes me uncomfortable as he's loud, crude and possibly overbearing. So I hadn't been too excited since I found out that we were working together - and to my horror.. i realised that he had been going ard telling our colleagues abt my personal matters which I had confided in Nic (and Nic had nv imagined that Singapore would be this small) and treating it like it didn't matter. LIKE MY LIFE DIDN'T MATTER. obviously in his case, my life didn't matter to him. what aggravates me the most is that he doesn't even bother to try to be discreet abt it and openly discusses MY LIFE when I am around, with the other colleagues in our office pantry.

I complained to Nic abt it and she apologised abt telling him, which i totally do not blame her for. i nv saw this coming too. Nic had recently stopped talking to him as he had also been loudspeakering Nic's personal matters to their common friends. ans he was totally pissing her off.

in the end, Nic and i concluded that Charles's loudspeakering behaviour was due to his need to boast abt his own popularity. like he is alwaes in the know of everyone's business and is more than willing to share the "information" with ppl who are willing to be on the receiving end.

and if this is his way of being buddy-buddy with me, he is so hitting all the wrong buttons. i am THIS CLOSE to clobbering him, i swear.

Exhibit B - Dan

When Dan and I just started out talking, i found him to be a very sweet and thoughtful guy. alwaes smiling and well-mannered. and until lately.. i noticed a slight change in his behaviour towards me. he loves to stare. he stares at me from across the table in the pantry, he stares at me at our colleague's wedding dinner 2 seats away from me and he stares at me through the glass door when i am in the meeting room, facing his desk outside. IT IS SUPER EERIE! and all thru this time, he does nothing. he doesn't talk to the person next to him, he doesn't read the papers that he holds in front of him and when i look up to glare at him, he looks away. and as soon as i return to doing whatever i was doing before, he goes back to staring at me again!!! it is damn frustrating!

the worst thing is that he will alwaes create an opportunity to talk to me in the office and it realli puts me off. like when i am getting a drink of water in the pantry alone, he wud stroll in and chit chat, and walk out with me after that.. not having touched anything in the pantry, i.e. he had no need to go into the pantry, except to talk to me! *yucks*

or when we go out to lunch in a grp.. he wud alwaes walk beside me and join in all the conversations that i engage in. it has pissed me off so much that i have recently taken to being real sarcarstic with him and rolling my eyes at him ever so often.

i dun want to guess why he is being like this ard me, i just want it to stop! it is turning into some kind of harassment and invasion of privacy and i realli realli hate it!

see, this is one of the reasons why i dun get buddy-buddy with guys. just one nice word/action and they immediately take it the wrong way! they are so annoying!

whoever said guys and girls can have platonic relationships is so lying, i tell u.

What do you do when you chance upon a Vanessa Bruno dress that fits you to a T right here in SG?

you buy it, of cuz, dumb ass!

and spend the rest of the day feeling guilty abt splurging (yet again) on something unnecesary at this point but secretly happy that you bought it anywae. (I can't believe my good luck - a Vanessa Bruno dress right here in SG - the only piece left in the shop and in my size! if that is not a sign for me to buy it, i dunno what is!)

Sigh. The sad (and chic) life of a shopaholic.

i've been coming to work this week, feeling like a zombie.. cuz there are still small CNY celebrations gg on every other day this week after work and i swear.. i am completely knocked out when i get home. and waking up the next morning for work is such a chore.

as a result.. i've been waking up realli late EVERYDAY of this week. and to make up for lost time.. (spent on sleeping, that is) i've been cabbing to work EVERYDAY of this week. no joke. 5 days in a row. ERP, peak hour charge, advance booking charge.. damn shiong. :( i think that's about 100 bucks gone from my pocket.

it cud also be due to the late nights i've had for the week of CNY.. i wake up after 11am everyday last week.. the body clock's kinda messed up right now. i used to be able to get up rather promptly when my alarm goes off each morning.. but now my alarm can snooze every 5 minutes for more than 20 times before i finally get up.. (that is pretty late, if you do ur sums.)

it's funny how nature works.. it takes years of discipline to cultivate a good habit and just a few nights to break it. damn sucky, if u ask me.

well, i've nv felt happier to say TGIF cuz i can sleep in all day tmr! *grins from ear to ear!* i have to agree that the best things in life are free.. nothing can compare to a quality sleep.. and as i get older.. i realli start to appreciate this more.

so happy friday ahead to all my darling friends and yes, i am making a conscious effort to avoid talking abt you-know-what. :) i've gone cold turkey and pulled thru!! :p *yippee!*

Remember, we are going thru RECESSION!

my company hands out angpaos during CNY yearly and during last year's CNY lunch, they handed out angpaos worth SGD288.. and this year.. well, due to the financial crisis.. real estate industry slowdown.. credit crunch bla bla bla.. my colleagues and i were expecting to take an "angpao-cut", if there was any intended to be handed out to begin with.

So we went for our CNY lunch today at Noble House. This is an upgrade considering we went to Tung Lok's Teahouse at China Square last year (which has since been torn down, btw). So we all thought.. "Confirm got angpao-cut la.. otherwise where got so good.. bring us to Noble House.." and so we wallowed in self-pity for a while before we dug into the sumptuous lunch complete with Shark's Fins Soup etc.

and jus before lunch ended, the bosses came ard to distribute the angpaos.. so we went, "heng ar.. at least they nv save on angpao lo.. got angpao, small small also good la.."

and so when we all got our angpaos.. some of us peeped and counted the small wad of cash in the angpaos.. there was a whopping SGD388 in it!

sorry, what recession huh?

As if I need another reminder.

It doesn't help that your friend's just named their new-born daughter "Isabella".

Really, it doesn't remind me of anything. REALLI.

Edward Cullen Reserves

i nv thot i wud say this but after a lot of scrutinizing thru Rob's pictures.. i realised he is not very 耐看. :( no doubt, he looks good in the movie but he tends to look slightly different on the red carpet and in photoshoots.. it's like sometimes he looks gorgeous and other times, he jus looks OK.

but there is no denying the fact that he can pull gorgeous & dangerous into one face (which does equate to Edward Cullen). :)

having said that, i did a quick research online and found a few recommendations that did suit the Edward Cullen profile perfectly.

This 1st one, is author Stephanie Meyer's personal choice. Unfortunately, at the point when the movie deal was confirmed, he was far too old for the role. (he was 24 and Edward Cullen's only 17.)

Henry Cavill All the fame could have been yours now! Sigh.. blame it on bad luck!

I recognise him on from the HBO Original series, "Tudors". He was, yes yes yes, very very dishy in the show. *yums* I wud have loved him as Edward Cullen too!

Some fans suggested this guy, whom I have no idea who he is. But I definitely agree that he is every bit of Edward Cullen there is.. he is the closest to what i imgained Edward to look like when reading the book.

Tom SturridgeYes.. he is very bad-boy and so pretty too!

So there you have it.. 2 very apt candidates for Edward Cullen, should Rob ever decide to quit the series. :p

But i realli doubt so..!

i think i am beginning to see light at the end of the tunnel.. the twilight fever is coming to an end.. soon. :)

Why I love RPatz - He is romantic.. & funny, truly.

Taken off one of his interviews:
"If Edward was not a fictional character and you just met him in reality, you know, he's one of those guys who'd be like an axe murderer."

"He's ultra-polite and really formal all the time and like, 'Let me open the door! Let me carry the bags!'"

"Literally, you can just tell he'd freak out one day and shoot someone."

The 22-year-old isn't afraid to speak his mind and allegedly even told the author of Twilight Stephenie Meyer that she was wrong about Edward.

He explains: "(Stephenie) was saying that he was happier than I thought he was and he enjoyed certain aspects of his supernatural abilities, and I just thought he wouldn't at all."

"I was just thinking how much, if I was in his position, I'd just think 'Wow, I can jump really high. Great. But I have to kill people in return."

And this is my ultimate fave thing he said in an interview:
"I'm looking for a girl with character.

"If I find her one day, do you know what I will do? I am going to write her hundreds of love letters."

OMG... how sweet is that?!

Kenny says: Boycott products of US origin!

was reading Kenny Sia's latest blog post.. and i thot.. yea.. it's time the Americans knew the impact the rest of the world could have on them.. so i was going down the list of things that Kenny suggests we all boycott due to their US origin..

Coca Cola - have been a loyal drinker for years straight but managed to kick off the addiction once upon a time.. long long ago. i'm sure i can do it again!
Starbucks - yea, i can live without.. i am not a coffee drinker anyway.
McDonald's - am a fan.. but could go without, with the innocent lives of Palestinians in mind..
KFC - wow this is realli testing me.. but i guess it's just as well since its yummy, crispy, deep fried chicken is so unhealthy.. *cringes*
Google, Facebook, Youtube - can la.. just don't log on the internet lo.. i'll jus have to migrate my blog to some remote server. :P

But it was this that made me realise.. no i cannot live without this.. i will most likely, very possibly.. DIE if i tried..

Kenny suggested to boycott HOLLYWOOD.

This includes TWILIGHT.

HOW CAN?!!!

Haha....! and you thot this post was non-TWILIGHT-related!! BOO! :p

Office Discrimination

So my colleague came back to work from her 4-mth maternity leave on Monday. as we moved office while she was on leave, she came back to a new office, new surrounding and lotsa new faces in the office too.

oh, she also came back to a new boss and new team as her ex-boss quit just slightly before she left for maternity leave - her team used to be just her ex-boss and her. it has now expanded into an 8-men team in her abscence. (Point to note - the new boss has brought in enough business with him to command such an army of staff for himself in such a short period of time.)

so i would not be surprised at her culture shock on her 1st day, and the slightly longer time she took to settle down.

i have not mentioned that she has been asked to resign one week prior returning to work. so her short stint back in the office is merely to serve her one-month notice.

i would not speculate on why she has been asked to leave, the truth is plain for all to see.

but issit necessary to send her a warning letter at 9.30pm on the 1st day of her short stint back at work?

yes, she received a warning letter on her 1st day back at work, after oredi being asked to leave.

the warning letter states that she has spent most of the day doing personal things, such as submitting claims and catching up with colleagues. and amidst that, failing to submit her handover report that day.

1st of all, after being away for 4 months, is it wrong to get the claims out of the way? even more so since it is now the beginning of a new financial year for us.. last year's claims should be cleared asap, as advised by finance.

2ndly, if colleagues want to catch up after missing u for 4 mths, is that realli so bad?? wat more she is new to the new office space.. can't she have some time to wow over it before getting to work? is harmony in the office not of utmost importance for a conducive working environment? wat is the motive behind issuing a warning letter against that?

last of all, who the hell submits a handover report on the very day she has been asked to leave when she is required to serve a one-month notice?

absoultely RIDICULOUS. tell me there is no discrimination involved here. yea i wun buy it even if u say that to my face. THIS IS UNFAIR! i am so glad my colleague is being asked to leave, cuz i dun think she wud want to work for such an unreasonable boss.

seriously, this new boss is a freaking piece of shit and i am so glad he is not my boss!

My Twilight Character

I am Alice Cullen! :)

Sorry folks.. I am not yet over my Twilight frenzy.. bear with me just a little bit longer, k? :p

Edward Is An Addiction - A Serious Addiction.

so i watched Twilight for the 2nd time last night. well i've had a different kind of feeling watching it after reading the book compared to watching it prior reading the book. everything looks clearer and the story flows better this time.

unfortunately, the fact abt Rob's poor acting also became starkly obvious, the 2nd time ard. especially since after i read "Midnight Sun", which i kno he was asked to read that too to get a better grasp of playing "Edward Cullen".

but anyhows.. i still enojyed it thoroughly, purely for the eye candy and the cheesy lines. haha. i decided that the worse line in the whole movie was "I will do everything it takes to make you safe again." I dunno but this line kinda gets to me. like, "Duh!"

so anywaes.. i watched it with bestie yday.. before the show started, she was so tired from work.. having to finish up everything before the xmas break.. so she was looking listless and incredibly distracted. i tried to hype it up for her by telling her how CUTE Rob is.. and she gave me an incredulous look and told me when her colleagues found out she was watching Twilight, one of them told her, "ok, u can go and watch, but u cannot like him, ok?"

and she replied her, "ya la i kno he's urs la. i won't fight with u, dun worry."

and when i started hyperventilating abt Rob being MINE and no one else's, she looked almost annoyed that this "Rob" frenzy ard her was getting so out of hand! i even whipped out my phone to show her the pictures i had of him in my phone! i'm quite certain i caught her rolling her eyes at me.

well of course, almost surely, at the end of the show, the tables were turned ard.

"eh, send me all the photos u have him on ur phone. NOW!! and i am gg to msg my colleague that she cannot have him.. he is OURS!"

it was hilarious. she walked out of the theatre all smiley and seemingly in a daze. (like i did when i caught it for the 1st time last week.. simply in awe of the movie and Rob!)

so now i have successfully converted bestie into a Twilighter.. lemme see.. who's next?? :p

oh, and MERRY X'MAS TO ALL! :)

What The Cast of "Twilight" Really Look Like

3rd post of the day.. tell me i am not obsessed!

been hearing a lot a lot of ppl complaining abt how ugly the cast of "Twilight" is.. (most of these ppl read the book before seeing the movie.. hence, oredi formed their own ideal cast in their minds - normally happens this way if you read the book 1st) and i am here to do the Twilight cast justice! (seriously, the movie did them horrible injustice! you will agree with me if u read on!)

the truth is the cast is NOT ugly at all! for folks like me who watched the movie 1st.. i find them perfectly fine.. (if not perfect!) it's a matter of managing your expectations from wat you read in the book and the director's pick. and let's not forget that it is, after all, a teenage/young adult fictatious story after all.. so pls stop saying that "Rob Pattinson is not man enough", "Emmett is not buff enough", "Alice is not pixie-cute enough" etc etc etc. they are depicted as 17/18 year olds in the book.. so for the slightly more matured folks.. pls dun expect to be seeing Brad Pitt/Nicole Kidman material in the movie! (they are way too old for be casted for this movie!)

I shall start with the mildest difference of all.. after all, she is the 1st character to be casted in the movie.. so i guess everyone one else chosen later was casted in her favour.

Kristen Stewarts aka Bella Swanher real look doesn't look too different from the movie.. the reason why she was casted as Bella, i guess. she is supposed to look like the girl next door kinda regular so i guess her styling in the movie was fine. the most acceptable one, if u ask me.

Taylor Lautner aka Jacob Blackseriously.. wat is with the dumb hair?! it makes Jacob look so retarded! and the make-up realli fail la.. so not-glam! his day to day look is quite dreamy, IMO!

Peter Facinelli aka Carlisle CullenCarlisle doesn't look too bad in the movie but he definitely looks better in person! in fact this photo that i found is also quite vampirish! why can't the stylist for the movie do anything remotely close to this? and wat the hell is with the stupid metallic blonde hair in the movie?!

Ashley Greene aka Alice CullenNow just look at THAT. i think the stylist hates her.. she looks like trash in the stupid wig and the awful make-up.. she is so so so pixie-cute in the other photo! i can see every bit of alice in her and can totally understand why she got chosen for the part of Alice Cullen. so ppl out there, stop saying she is not suitable for the part.. she is, just that the stylist screwed up her looks!

Kellan Lutz aka Emmett Culleni would show u the whole picture here if i wanted to.. jus to show u how BUFF Kellan Lutz realli is. but well, jus look at wat the stylist did to his hair in the movie.. it oredi turned me off. who cares abt the bod with a hair like that?? u kno wat they say.. the hair makes the man. (no doubt the stylist must hate Kellan Lutz too.)

Jackson Hathbone aka Jasper Cullen/HalesI would totally fall in love with this hottie if i saw him on tv.. btu his styling for the part of Jasper Hales has got to be one of the worse.. the stylist practically made him look like a clown with the crazy big hair! and yes i kno vampires are supposed to be fair and all.. but with the blonde hair.. isn't he much too fair? i feel like fainting jus looking at him.. it is like a makeover all gone wrong!

Elizabeth Reaser aka Esme CullenWhat do you do with one of cast who oredi looks the most insignificant amongst her fellow cast? MAKE HER UGLIER. i feel so sorry for Elizabeth Reaser.. the stylist realli made her look like a mother-figure despite the book saying that she is merely 26 yrs old. she looks 36 in the movie. :( (she is actually realli pretty outside of the movie, dun u think?)

Nikki Reed aka Rosalie Cullenyou will be surprised to see wat ppl say abt Nikki Reed if you google her name. cuz it fits nothing like wat u see of her in Twilight. she is HOT HOT HOT! this regular picture that i've chosen of her is not the most flattering yet, reason being.. if i chose anything too different.. u guys wud not even be able to recognise her! her styling for the role of Rosalie has got to be the worst out of the whole movie.. even her hair looks unhappy to be on her head!

Robert Pattinson aka Edward Cullen

i can't even tell u how strongly i feel towards the injustive done to Rob. u look at the photos above, touch your heart and tell me he is not hot. come on guys, he is perfect for the role of Edward! he is sexy, mysterious.. with a hint of bad boy in him.. if that is not perfect, i dunno wat is. i can almost see wat stephanie meyer and catherine hardwicke saw in him when they were picking out the Edward in their minds.

my conclusion is.. THE STYLING FOR THE "TWILIGHT" MOVIE IS SO TERRIBLE. the whole team of them should not have been drafted for this project at all! wrong wrong wrong wrong wrong. the actors wud be looking much better as themselves in the movie than getting all made-up like clowns and sporting hair-raising hairstyles (literally)!

but with the success of the movie.. i am seriously hoping they will have a bigger budget for the "New Moon" movie and hopefully engage a better team of stylists.

maybe the new team will know the difference between "pale" and "white". *shudders!*

My Perfect Fairytale Ending..

Women nowadays still dream of a fairy tale ending..

but what they want is not a knight on a white horse,

but a vampire with a shiny silver volvo..

if u haven't realised, my writing bug is back! i dunno if it's the new template that's motivated me to keep writing or the obvious fact that i am now obsessing over something and hence have something to write abt.

but either way, i am happy to find my writing bug back.. i missed it so much!

i was reading abt stephanie meyer over the weekend and how she came to start penning "Twilight". turns out that it started from a dream she had.. whereby there was a girl and guy at a meadow in the woods.. and the guy was dangerously handsome and the girl was in awe by his mere presence.

and it ends with the guy revealing that he is a vampire, but in love with the girl.

and that, my friends, is how "Twilight" was born. according to her, the guy in her dream was so devastatingly good-looking that she tried very hard NOT to forget how he looked like. and in order to do that, she started writing down the dream, which turned into a series of events she made up, and in the end, led to a 500-paged novel.

after she completed the whole novel, stephanie meyer had her sister read it just for fun. her sister enjoyed it so much that she suggested that stephanie get it published. so stephanie spent the next few months finding publishers and agents and what not, with hopes of sharing her perfect Edward Cullen with the world.

the dream she had that started the "Twlight" novel, is actually depicted on Chapter 13 - Confessions, off the 1st book of the "Twilight" saga.

it's actually pretty interesting to read, if you are interested, you can read the full details here.

the weird thing abt the whole Edward Cullen thing is that.. even tho he is created purely out of Stephanie Meyer's imagination, the author herself is hopelessly in love with him too! but it is this exact passion that is being projected into the story that makes it such a compelling tale to tell..

on another note, it is good news for Forks, the place that Stephanie chose to set the whole story. apparently it has boosted tourism for the small town in Washington since the Twlight frenzy began and the official website of Forks even has a section dedicated to Twilight!

It also has an interesting slideshow that maps out the points of interest from the novel. very interesting to know that all the places mentioned in story realli do exist! (including the La Push beach and the Quiletes tribe!) click on it to take a look - but may i forewarn.. it is strictly for Twilighters like myself only. :)

so this concludes the summary of my research over the weekend on the "behind-the-scenes" of Twilight and how it has contributed to US economy. haha. this post should convince those who doubt that i am going nuts over Twilight, as well as the next line - i am watching it again tonight! WOOHOO!

I seriously have a date with a vampire!

Tell me how NOT to be in love with him.

I Just Can't Control My Mind!

i can't even rem the last time i had such bad withdrawal symptoms from reading chick lit.. i swear, this has got to be the worst ever! even the withdrawal symptoms from "The Other Boleyn Girl" can't compare to this..

after i finished TOBG, all i did was wiki more info abt the historical figures depicted in the book and perhaps took a few more days to think abt how the story unfolded in the book and the differences from it compared to the movie.. and viola! my addiction was cured.

but this.. this "Twilight" addiction is not so easy to cure.. after finishing the saga that consisted of 4 freaking-thick books (plus one initial draft of "Midnight Sun" - the 5th instalment of the Twilight Saga: this was a futile attempt to curb my addiction! it only made it grow like a monster!).. i am craving for more More MORE!! i need something vampirish to curb this addiction. i have oredi watched all the videos that are related to "Twilight" on youtube.. including those who are remotedly-linked as well.. i even have the movie trailer memorized! i have also read all the info that wiki has to offer.. as well as all the websites that spring out on Yahoo! and Google when i type "Twilight"..

and i also kno stephanie meyer quite well by now.. i have been reading fervently abt her on the official "Twlight" website.

so how, brown cow? after all these.. my addiction not only has not waned.. it has grown majorly out of proportion and impossible to ignore! (u wud have realised by now that my previous 5 posts had all been abt "Twilight".. how to ignore??)

so now i am turning to other Vampire Romance to hopefully try to curb the addiction.. but.. i have never read anything vampirish until "Twilight".. and have absolutely no idea where to start.

so this is good.. i'll have something to wiki abt in the midst of my insane obsession.

and like i promised.. here are 2 more of my fave Edward Cullen quotes, from "Breaking Dawn" (Book 4):

"But, if I had been able to take your place last night, it would not have made the top ten of the best nights of my life. Dream about that." Eclipse, Chapter 23, Pg. 509
"The moment Bella’s heart stops beating, I will be begging for you to kill me." Breaking Dawn, Chapter 9, Pg. 183

ok, i am off to wiki more abt Vampirish Romance novels. Tata! :p

Midnight Sun

Call me slow or wateva.. i've only just realised that an intitial draft of the 5th instalment of the "Twilight" Series had been leaked on the internet and because of that, the author has published it openly for all to download.

OK that is not even the most exciting part yet.

Ths 5th instalment, "Midnight Sun", is the whole "Twilight" story retold from Edward's POV. Did you hear me right?? FROM EDWARD'S POV! (the very same one Stephanie Meyer passed to Rob Pattinson to read before they started shooting the movie.) it would be a torment to have to wait for that to come out and now that i know a draft is easily available online.. it is a dream come true!! you cannot possible understand the esctatic feeling i am going thru!!

so here, for all "Twilight" fans who are as slow as me.. here is the link to download the PDF (an impressive 264-paged draft!).. it is not illegal as Stephanie Meyer has oredi openly published the same link of her official website.

i am at the 140th page now.. still trying to go thru it slowly so as to savour every single emotion of the story..

story goes that the complete version will still be released but at a postponed date now.. no doubt i will still be on the lookout for that once it hits the bookstores!

but for now, this will do!! *grins grins grins!*

My Personal Brand of Heroin

The last time I had such an obsession over a novel/chick-lit must have been "The Other Boleyn Girl" (has it been almost a year - can't rem). I wouldn't say it is not enjoyable.. finding a great read is exciting for me.. I can lose sleep, skip meals and very likely skip work to read it. (but the last one has not happened so far, yet.)

so this "Twilight" obsession has thrown me into another reading fernzy.. I got all four instalments from my sis-in-law on sunday. I finished the 1st 2 in 3 days. i am now in my 4th day and 3rd book.. i can't wait to finish it and go onto the last book.

the more i read it the more i keep wondering if there are any Edward Cullen-s in the world. obviously not the vampire part of him, but the romantic, impposibly sweet and fiercely protective nature of a lover.. it is so awakening to my senses.. i just cannot stop thinking abt how attractive that is. i am so consumed in the love story between edward and bella that i am almost convinced that Rob Pattinson is the real Edward Cullen (especially after watching the movie). Ppl say real life and reel life gets difficult to differentiate after a while. *shrugs*

i have to warn the guys out that if your girlfriend is as obsesed as i am abt the Twilight series.. beware.. Edward Cullen is slowly forming a benchmark for comparison to you.. so start being sweet and nice!

fortunately for me.. i have oredi found "my own personal brand of heroin" (twilight fans will know what this means) but minus the marble skin, chalky face, golden eyes, taut bod, superhuman speed, omg the list goes on forever. but ya, i've found my own Edward Cullen and am content that we're both humans. :p

tho i think i secretly yearn for a life of danger and secrets..

i can't believe wat this novel is doing to me - unleashing my wild side.. if this is considered wild. haha.

i'm gonna leave u with my fave Edward Cullen quotes so far.. it's as classic as Jerry Maguire's "You complete me", I SWEAR! (but u gotta read it to believe it!)

"If I could dream at all, it would be about you." Twilight, Chapter 13, Pg. 274
"And so the Lion fell in love with the Lamb.." Twilight, Chapter 14, Pg. 294
"Look after my heart - I've left it with you." Eclipse, Chapter 4, Pg. 95

There will be more to come when i finish book 3 and 4. *grinning-from-ear-to-ear* :)

I'll slap the next person who says he's not hot!

Unless you volunteer to have your eyes checked! (or your sexuality, for that matter!)

And i take back my words abt not being into Rob Pattinson. Have you heard his killer English accent... so HOT.. and who can have such messy hair and still look so charming? he realli dazzles!

i've come to a conclusion that all British actors have this brooding suaveness abt them.. i dunno.. the sex appeal kinda grows on u. he speaks (and has humour) like Hugh Grant and carries himself in a very Jude Law-ish way.. what a fine combination!

I would be drooling if not for the fact that I am sitting in the office!

This is proof that i am officially OBSESSED..

And deliriously so!

I don't think I'm obsessed with the movie/Robert Pattinson.. it's more likely I am in love with Edward Cullen, the fictional character himself.. and only in a fictatious world will you find such a romantic, loyal and one-of-a-kind lover.. so technically I am in love with Stephanie Meyer's brain. :p

i think one of the biggest reason why i love my hubby so much is because he alwaes keeps me grounded by the most basic principles in life.

he makes me see that a lot of things in life don't matter if u know how to look far and plan ahead.

so u've taken a fall today, so wat? if u get up and walk again, u r stronger than those who's nv fallen.

so u have been accused wrongfully, so wat? if ur conscience is clear, time will prove all things wrong. rem, "sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will nv hurt me".

i hope the above kind of sums up wat i'm trying to say. it's jus that with so many tragedies going on ard us.. i realli dun understand why some ppl still insist of making other ppl's life miserable for no particular benefit of their own. these selfish, narrow-minded and bitter ppl are truly the typical "ugly singaporean".

i think some singaporeans realli have it too good in their lifes that they forget abt the basic principles of life. wat's happened to compassion, forgiveness and consideration? and the most basic of them all - courtesy. i realli do not understand girls who are walking-swearing-machines. wat are they trying to prove? that they have a flair for insulting ppl, particularly their parents? such obnoxious behaviour has realli got to be eradicated if Singapore wants to be a civilised society.

after wat i wud call "an unpleasant episode with the ignorant", i have come to be secretly proud of myself that i can put my point across with hurling a single word of vulgarity. it did not even cross my mind to do that cuz it was realli unnecessary and uncalled for. and i believe that ppl who do that do it out of a guilty conscience and a pride too big for their own good.

i recognised that the situation was gg a place that was way out of my league and class, so i walked away. after all, i have oredi gotten my point across and how they took to it and realli none of my business.

this episode realli got me thinking - are human beings taking things for granted? that everyday we wake up, we will have nice clothes to wear, good food to eat and happy ppl ard us all the time? when was the last time we felt thankful for the bed u sleep on every night, the ppl who were/are there for you during your down times and the colleague who buys lunch for u sometimes?

it makes me think abt the movie "pay it forward" when i think abt such things. and that like the boy, i am going to pay it forward by learning how to let go of grudges and start by being nice to ppl, whether they are nice to me or not.

ultimately, i want to leave this world with a smile on my face with tears of joy and be able to look back and hope i made a difference in ppl's life..

so to the girl in my "unpleasant episode with the ignorant" - i hope u live a happy life ahead and may our paths nv cross each other's again - if not for happy occasions.

*Life is too short to have hate and regret in it. Fill it up with joy, happiness and lots of love!*
